Former Associated Professor of Economic Policy, Financial Systems and International Economics at the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Instituto Carlos V (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) and Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca.
Lecturer on Economics of the E.U. (every two years seminars with faculty and students): University of Miami, Arizona Sate University, University of Minnesota and University of South Carolina.
Author of several articles and book chapters on monetary, E.U. and international economics. Member of the editing board of the Información Comercial Española economic review.

Permanent Representation of Spain before E.U. Institutions, Brussels (1998-2003).
-Senior Counselor on Economic Affairs in charge of ECOFIN Council matters.
International Monetary Fund, Washington D.C. (1994-96 and 1986-88)
-Alternate Executive Director for Mexico, Venezuela, Central America and Spain 1994-96.-IMF Staff Economist, 1986-88.

Corporate experience.
Present: Spanish Representative, Management Committee of the E.U. European Development Fund, Brussels. Member of the EU-Africa Infrastructure Trust Fund Executive Committee, Luxemburg.
Past: member of the Executive Board of the European Investment Bank, Luxemburg, and of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, London. Member of the Supervisory Board of the Council of Europe Development Bank.
Member of the board of several Spanish public enterprises: Rumasa S.A., Minas de Almadén y Arrayanes S.A. and Agrosegur S.A.
