Many businesses view legal regulations as a barrier inhibiting operations.
This course is designed to explore the legal environment in which businesses operate. Particular emphasis is given to understanding a common law system as compared to a civil law system. International legal regulations also are explored to complete the legal realms in which businesses function.
The topics focus on contract law, torts, product liability and intellectual property. This course strives to identify legal issues and foster creative thinking about solutions. It does so by relying on both legal cases as examples of the nuances of the legal regulations and business cases for developing solutions that incorporate legal strategy.
