Mrs. Mirjana Matešić, director of Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development, presented a guest lecture on Wednesday, December 1, as part of „Business Ethics" course, that is taught this semester by research fellow Paul Stubbs from EIZ.
The organization promotes sustainable development in private sector, and represents business in sustainable development. It was founded in 1997 by leading Croatian businesses. Member-founders associate their know-how, experience, capability and responsibility into a shared commitment to sustainable development aiming to balance the economic growth, social welfare and environmental safety.
Mrs. Matešić spoke about the steps acomplished so far in Croatia in relation to best practice, benefits for the members, public visibilty of corprate social responsibilty, relations with the government, and about the „CSR Index" project organized in partnership with Croatian Chamber of Economy, that awards Croatian companies with best CSR practices.
