Mr. Fred Hrkac, president of Boston Scientific - Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA), with headquarters in Paris, gave a guest lecture in MBA program on Wednesday, September 8, as part of "Strategic Management" course. Boston Scientific is a medical device company with $8 billion of total sales, where Europe Middle East & Africa accounts for $2 billion of sales .
He spoke about his career path, the company profile and its strategic planning process, ending with the wrap up of a five year start plan for EMEA, and Q&A session.
Mr. Hrkac worked 15 years in Johnson & Johnson including the start ups of Central Eastern Europe in the early 1990's and he lead the J&J office in South East Europe (includes Croatia) from 1998-2001.
The lecture raised lots of interest among students and faculty. The students were able to get an idea of their potential role in a companies' strategic planning process.
