Dr. Philip Swicegood's lecture in Arcotel Allegra

Dr. Philip SwicegoodIGBS Zagreb, in cooperation with US Embassy in Zagreb, is organizing the public lecture of dr. Philip G. Swicegood, a visiting Fulbright Scholar at the Faculty of Economics in Split.

The lecture "What the Economic Recession is Teaching Us" will address topics like systemic risk management, diversification of funding sources, liquidity management, transparency, counter-party risk, capital budgeting issues, dividend policy, the regulatory environment, etc.

The lecture was free of charge and took place on Thursday, May 13 at 5:00 pm, in Arcotel Allegra hotel in Zagreb, Branimirova 29.

Business professionals from banking and consulting sector, R&D, and other various fields, IGBS alumni and students have attended the lecture. Following the lecture Professor Swicegood has answered numerous questions from the participants, who have joined the coffee break afterwards.

Dr. Philip G. Swicegood is an Associate Professor of Finance at Wofford College. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Florida State University, and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas-Austin.

Philip founded and directs The Broad River Group LLC, a real estate investment firm. He has worked in the banking industry as an analyst for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, US Department of the Treasury, and has served as a business consultant for companies in the U.S., Russia, China, Vietnam, and Poland.

In addition to teaching, Philip conducts finance seminars for HighMark Inc., a non-profit consulting firm that provides business training in developing countries, most recently in Russia, Macedonia, India and Vietnam. He has co-authored the new HighMark finance curriculum that is now being used by trainers globally in 28 countries.
